FUT - Strip Method

We believe that patients have a right to full disclosure and a complete understanding of exactly what hair restoration surgery involves.
This step by step presentation shows how today’s state of the art follicular unit hair transplant procedure is typically performed.

Patient is prepared for Surgery – During  surgery the follicles from the back of the head that are genetically resistant to going bald will be removed and transplanted to the balding areas.

Donor area is Trimmed- Prior to surgery, the hair in donor area to be surgically removed is trimmed.

Donor Area is Anesthesized-  Once the area is prepared, local anesthesia is given.

Donor Tissue is Removed-  Donor tissue containing bald resistant hair follicles are then surgically removed.

Donor Area is sutured – The donor wound is sutured with nylon suteres. When hair is combed over the donor area the sutures are not visible. The sutures are typically removed 10 days after surgery.

Donor tissue is trimmed into follicular unit grafts- Surgical technicians then use loupes to sliver and dissect follicular unit grafts.

Bald area is prepared- Local anesthesia is injected into the recipient area and incisions are made in irregular pattern that mimic nature.

Graft Insertion- Follicular grafts are gently placed into the recipient incisions.

Patient immediately after surgery- Following surgery a patient will have thousands of tiny incision with a short hair stubble showing from the new grafts.
